The two export formats — what is the difference?

Why the fields are shaped this way
- Name, personality keywords and first message do most of the work. The opening line sets the direction of the whole conversation — write a hook, not a self-introduction.
- Description works best around 200–600 characters. Too short and the character collapses into a generic assistant; too long and it eats context budget that the model needs later.
- Scenario establishes who you are to each other, where you are, and when. It removes most of the awkward first turns.
- Example dialogue is the model's imitation sample. Two or three exchanges is enough — the point is to demonstrate the voice, not to write a scene.
- Tags are for your own retrieval later. Fill them in quickly and move on.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The page makes no network requests: the preview is drawn locally on a canvas, the PNG
metadata is written into the file's bytes by JavaScript in your browser, and the JSON is saved with a Blob.
It works with the network disconnected.
Will other platforms read the metadata in the PNG?
Two community-standard structures are written (chara for v2, ccv3 for v3).
Compatibility varies: some clients read everything, some read a subset, some ignore embedded metadata entirely.
The safe habit is to export both the PNG and the JSON.
Can I export without the name burned into the image?
Yes — untick "Burn the name into the image". The picture is then just the avatar, and the data still travels inside the file metadata.
Can I use what I export commercially?
The tool puts no restrictions on your output — the character is yours. But do not present work you have no rights to (an existing IP, or someone else's card) as your own original creation. That boundary is covered in Character archetypes.
Why is there no "import to platform X" button?
Because that would mean sending your data to someone else's server, which contradicts the point of a tool that runs entirely on your device. Take the exported file wherever you like.
